Derek Miller is a New York based freelance Scenic and Lighting Designer. New York credits include the lighting design for three world premieres with Poetic Theater Productions and two with Sanguine Theatre Company. His set design credits include a set design for a new play with Sanguine and Festen with Columbia University. Other design credits include the Wedge and KIDDSTUFF series at the Hangar Theatre and A Midsummer Night's Dream at The Court Theatre (New Zealand). He received his MFA in Scene Design from Purdue University. His design credits while there included Brighton Beach Memoirs (Scenic), Choices (Lighting), S/he Was Changed (Dance Lighting), and Medea (Scenic and Projection). He also served as the assistant scenic designer for David Barber at the Contemporary American Theatre Festival on three productions as part of their 2013 season.
